Unveiling the cover for THE DRAGON HAS SOME COMPLAINTS!

Garrodigh is a curmudgeonly three-headed dragon who pretends to be tame so he can eat for free at the local dragon-riding academy. Unfortunately, the rider he's assigned to is... a lot.

Coming Summer 2026 from DAW (US) and Arcadia (UK)!
It would be so, so funny if he plays Jason Todd.

So, it's been a very hard few months. That's why I want to thank every reader that has dropped me a mention loving Wearing The Lion or Someone You Can Build A Nest In, or who has said they're excited for The Dragon Has Some Complaints. Especially now, it means a lot that these things touch others.

Big: Wyoming supreme court just struck down abortion ban.

And get this: The reason is a constitutional amendment codifying a right to make health care decisions... passed in 2012 by conservatives who thought it'd screw Obamacare!

Quite the backfire. We explained this lawsuit a few years back:

The power of the nostalgia I have for paper books I could fit in a pocket.
Mass market paperback is actually the ideal book format

Just finished An Eye for an Eye (2019), which is a riveting suspense film that reminds me of Hitchcock. Between this, Veronica (2017), [REC]1 (2007) and [REC]2 (2009), is Paco Plaza the most underrated director in Horror?

The lady who took my blood work got really nervous about tapping my vein. Once she got it in, I told her, "See? You're a natural."

It made her smile. We chatted warmly for the rest of the session. Sometimes it just feels nice to be nice.
Complimented McDonald’s lady on her nails and she lit up

Give someone a random compliment today

Miyazaki is one of the great directors and has had an amazing career, but my favorite of his movies is one of his earliest: Castle of Cagliostro. A puckish thief and his misfit friends help rescue a princess and help free her kingdom. It's only rivaled by Princess Bride in my heart.
In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.
