Mark Kelly puts out a statement saying "The President of the United States just overthrew a foreign ruler and explained to the American people that this is about taking control of the oil reserves of a foreign nation." This is probably the strongest statement alongside Gallego's I've read.

It was clear to me that hitting kids was wrong when I realized people will hit their kids but not openly harmful adults.

Anyway, funny how politicians scream about law and order when people march & protest but when politicians openly break the law we're not sure if law applies anymore?

If you’re struggling right now, know that you’re not alone.

It’s ok if everything feels like it’s too much.

It’s ok if you can’t show up the way you want to.

It’s ok if you have to unplug, disappear, retreat or take a break.

Self care is resistance.

Congress has not formally declared war since 1942, 83 years ago.

Look at all the war the US has done in the past 83 years. Very obviously, it long long ago stopped requiring congressional approval for war according to its own constitution.
Fun fact: the US has been at continual war since 1945 and *not a single one of these wars*, from the Korean War to Vietnam to Iraq to Iraq again, was ever declared war by Congress.

The last time the US Congress declared war was 1942. 83 years ago.
A lot of people are talking about whether Trump is going to go to war with Iran but not enough people are talking about the fact that Trump has no legal authority to do so without Congressional authorization

A good reminder of how major media outlets inflated and outright lied about the famous toppling of the Saddam statue in Firdos Square in 2004, which was a carefully stage-managed propaganda operation conducted by the U.S. military.
The Toppling: How the Media Inflated the Fall of Saddam's Statue in Firdos Square
How saturation media coverage of the toppling of Saddam Hussein's statue in Firdos Square fueled the perception that the war had been won and diverted attention from what in reality was just the start...

The members who did the "don't follow illegal orders" video absolutely need to immediately do a "hey these were the illegal orders we were talking about and participating in them can expect to face consequences to the fullest extent of the law" video
Uniformed military are involved in this shambolic behavior and they all need to be held to account

A primary goal of the discussion now on dragging dem pols to do the right thing has to be on widespread accountability and where appropriate prosecutions of significant numbers of servicemembers
Inexcusable shit.
