Yes, yes, it's a bad idea that will backfire, and it's good to laugh at him, but it's important to also remember the malicious intent of this proposal: he thinks he can get vigilantes to hurt people whose faces he's broadcast on TV.
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

It goes right along with the whole thing about pokeballs - you've got devices that *seem* to be able to convert matter to energy and back, and kids can just buy them with pocket change at the drugstore.

(I know that's not the actual lore. Please don't make me look up the pokemon canon lol.)
I think one of my favorite lore implications in Pokemon might be that resurrecting extinct Pokemon is based on technology that's existed for at least 30 years, and has been perfected such that it's boring and commonplace.

In Alola there's a guy doing it out of the back of his van lol

Short but vital thread! Well said, @kellybarnhill.bsky.social. ⬇️
Good morning friends! Some things to remember when you call your senators today:
1. Renee Good's killer is still at large and has not faced justice
2. Alex Pretti's murderers are still at large, unnamed and still working on our dime.
3. 35 people died in ICE custody last year. 35 shattered families

"Return CBP to the border"
Now that you have seen what CBP does, why is it okay to have them on the US-Mexico or US-Canada border? Some people say they want "a controlled border" but at what cost to life?

A lot more people should know about the bravery Marimar Martinez displayed in the midst of Chicago’s occupation and the murder of two observers in MSP. They tried to kill her, shooting her 5 times, and it’s a miracle she’s alive to push for transparency like this after being persecuted by the DOJ.

Welp. I guess I found my local equivalent to the Nisswa "retirees opine on the Twin Cities" watering hole at this burger joint today.

I'm losing it over the Toledo Zoo's 8-day-old giraffe Eugene. I understand the giraffes have 15 month gestational periods but my guy looks like the zookeepers have been reading the news to him all 8 days he's been outside

For those unfamiliar with Edina this is the Minneapolis equivalent of a Westchester socialite walking down Fifth Avenue singing "John Brown's Body."
They got Edina Moms excoriating the Administration and signing off with a a land acknowledgement. They are so fucked lol

they’re abducting our neighbors and putting them in concentration camps and they’ll empty a whole goddamn magazine into you while you’re lying on the ground if you don’t cheer them on while they’re fucking doing it.

The last general strike in Minneapolis was in 1934.

It started in May, leading to a series of small battles between strikers and police. The two sides agreed to a contract on May 25.

Employers reneged in July, and police opened fire on protesters who flooded the streets. Two died, 67 were wounded.

Schools in Saint Paul were closed Tuesday and Wednesday as teachers prepared to do online and in-person teaching simultaneously due to safety concerns about ICE.

Kids in my daughter’s school refer to those two days off as Evil Break.

As in, “So what did you do over Evil Break?”

The old Minnesota flag was already problematic but it has turned into a hate symbol over time in a way that's very hard to describe to people not immersed in the culture

So I know it'll never go down like this, but the absolute funniest way It Could Happen is if a mob of world leaders collectively snap and just jump him with their bare hands.
Trump threatens all - talks about Switzerland begging him not to increase tariffs and rubbing him a wrong way since the “woman on the phone was so aggressive” and he raised tariffs to 39% and realized the “US is keeping all afloat”.

“I realized without us most of the countries don’t even work”
