It would be nice if Congress rocket-docketed impeachment. They have the power to declare war. Unfortunate that we've got the Noriega precedent...and over 120 years of doing shit like this.

Three million people live in Caracas, five million in the metro area. It's one of the densest cities in South America. Remember this in the morning when they try to spin this as anything other than a cold-blooded attack on a major civilian center.

Again, people REALLY need to account for the Miguel Noriega precedent, which is very similar to this one.

That's an important precedent not least bc HW got buy-in from Europe on that one (DOJ ultimately sent Noriega to France for prosecution after he was done in the US).

Congress needs to revise the assorted Presidential authorities over foreign military action. They won't, because the current Congress are gutless cowards.

Not one officer resigned.

FOLKS NEED TO REALIZE HOW HUGE THIS IS

For the first time in modern Texas history, Dems have candidates running in every state and federal race on the 2026 ballot.

That includes all congressional seats, every state House and state Senate race, plus statewide judicial and State Board of Education.

You don't repeal a court ruling. You either get it overturned, which is unlikely, or you propose campaign finance legislation that works within the ground set by Citizen's United.

Citizens United builds off Buckley v. Valeo (1971), ruling campaign spending is protected speech.

Farmers voted for Trump at about 80-85%. And for the GOP at about the same rate.

I'd love to think this will let them consider voting for a Democrat. They'll get a taxpayer-funded handout that's less than what we spent bailing out Argentina's libertarian austerity government.
Farmers are about to pay a lot more for health insurance
Tariffs, inflation, and other federal policies have battered U.S. farmers' bottom lines. Now many farmers say the expiration of federal health care subsidies will make their coverage unaffordable.

Big protests going in Iran, and the state is trying to put them down with force, already killing 3.

I don't know where this is going, and the Iranian government has survived big protests before. But whatever happens, it's admirably brave when people take on violently repressive regimes.
