Someone has lifted the QuickTimeVR movie files from 1994's "Star Trek: The Next Generation Interactive Technical Manual", upscaled them then built an in-browser replica of the ITM's "Tour" module. mijofr.github.io/st-panorama/

Reminder that years ago it was found out that the FBI straight up made up a whole bunch of fake forensic sciences, plural. People have gone to jail and been executed due to literally pseudoscience.
Hair forensics, for instance, is totally nonsense.

Reminder that years ago it was found out that the FBI straight up made up a whole bunch of fake forensic sciences, plural. People have gone to jail and been executed due to literally pseudoscience.

we're fully passengers now on a plane where this happened and have been for some time
my guess is the lowered barriers to entry and access to audience which has been a positive of the internet for writers, artists, gamedevs etc brought this along with it. credentials matter less to get "on a stage"

instead of I don't want to talk about it, I tell people who ask of my 30 year old student who made 10 games in our community that died quickly from covid, a friend since 2008 who passed away after months of complications, few friends with long covid severe enough for years it's hard to earn a living
