Suddenly realizing that one consequence of the Wheel of Time show not taking off is that we're not likely to get a D&D 5e update.
As someone who still owns the 3e book, this is mildly upsetting. There's homegrown, but I wanted to see an official take on how channeling the One Power would work.

The number of people in the last 18-odd hours who’ve told me as a federal employee (contractor, so I have no guarantee of backpay) some version of, “well, you’re already fucked, so just take one for the team” has been really eye-opening.

I don't see the "sellout" here. Every day without paychecks for millions of federal workers is a problem. There's only so long you can drag this out. If the Senate GOP caucus is absolutely dead set on breaking ACA subsidies, well, unfortunately, the American people gave them an electoral majority.

after reading this opinion, I’m comfortable saying that the court’s liberal justices are no longer behaving as if the court they sit on is legitimate and their dissents exist mostly to explain to future iterations of the judicial system why the court should never operate like this again
