If America continues to decline at a slightly more rapid rate than Rome fell then the United States may only have six to seven centuries left

The problem now—and the reason we have the ACA and Justices Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson—is that the Senate minority does not actually dictate policy outcomes

Again, you can feel your big feelings about Chuck Schumer but I think as an adult citizen it actually is your responsibility to know basic facts about the American legislature

Schumer has been more obstructionist than McConnell was in the minority; that isn’t a value judgement, it’s a fact

People generally are extremely resistant to admitting that they were wrong or did a bad thing and "he wasn't who we thought he was" or "I didn't know he was going to do these things" is the glove that these folks use to handle "I was wrong." This is what winning is going to look like.

Americas long been a country thats been particularly plagued by conmen, hucksters, & grifts of all sorts. On top of that we are in an era—supercharged by social media—where that dynamic powers a huge part of ppls financial goals/fantasies. Ofc ppl jumped at the chance to be taken in by Trump again.
They weren't tricked, they were eagerly conned.

“Dems need to shut down the goverment until 2029” and “Chuck Schumer needs to wrassle with Greg Bovino” are mutually incompatible asks!

If Senators aren’t in DC it makes it easier for Republicans to overcome the filibuster! You actually need to pick one!
But to answer your question of what I want, given Schumer is my actual senator, I want him to shut the govt down. I want him to commit to keeping the govt shut down while DHS is engaged in crimes and ethnic cleansing. I want him to put his body on the line standing between ICE and their victims.

I think that the reason you are in theory yelling at Chuck Schumer is that he is a minority leader in one of the constitutionally established legislative bodies and it’s frankly extremely bizarre that you appear to find actual legislative outcomes collateral to posting

It really is alarming how many liberals do not understand the basics of how their own government operates.

or i guess the other possibility is like 480 dudes on the floor (double dibbing on who shows up) is another possibility but i think that's more just embarassing for everyone involved than anything

If you want a really good example of this one, go compare India's space program and what it's accomplished to their LCA program that resulted in the HAL Tejas because the latter still does not have indigenously produced engines despite that being a primary goal of the program
tbh I feel like an underrated aspect of Elon Musk is his startups focus on future technologies that seem a lot more difficult than they actually are.

Rockets are at least one order of magnitude easier than commercial airliner jet engines

The thing is, we don't really have a history of fascists doing propaganda in this edgelord kind of way. Birth of a Nation makes it very clear who's the hero and who's bestial, you know? Nazi propaganda for the gen pop doesn't show them shoving people into a cattle car and laughing.
I think what I was looking for was more stuff that has abject cruelty and depravity at its core, like as its definition of good and righteousness and heroism. Stuff where the ICE agent who killed Renee Good, or the FBI director who quashed an investigation, could be the heroes.
