“fuck this, fuck my skis, fuck my poles, fuck everything I’m going to live in the woods now” is the single most relatable thing an Olympian has done so far

I sure can’t do any of the stuff these people can but I will absolutely go live in the woods if I fuck up badly enough

Denver, 2008: Seeing I was lost, Jackson offered me a seat and shared his perspective about what was about to take place. I saved tape from what he said on record, memory from he said off record. Minutes later and just a few yards away, Obama accepted the nomination.

Rest in peace, Jesse Jackson.

The Guardsman was never found.
How is it possible that Kristi Noem still has this job. Imagine if you’re a family member or a shipmate of this guardsman.

Look, if you think Newsom is going to lose in 2028 because trans rights supporters will sit out the election but you’re not doing everything in your power now to prevent Newsom from being nominated, I guess that’s on you.

Yes.

Staph infections were fatal so often that we distinguished them by what part of the body they attacked first. "Childbed fever" is a term for a variety of post-birth complications that killed a lot of women. There are reasons wet nurses used to be so common. (And they're not all class-based.)

yeah everything that is responsive to reality is lib coded. It's part of the broader split between cranks and non-cranks. What's extremely notable is that while business is falling in the non-crank side, business ONWERS are solidly on the crank end.

Love that AI, a thing we hate and don’t want, steals everything, ruins everything, shittifies everything. Drinks our water, plagiarizes our art, pisses all over our information fidelity, drives kids to suicide, serves the right-wing, and fucks up our devices and services. Good job, techbros!

Guess what fuckers, the flip side to "ideas are all that matters" is IDEAS ARE HARD
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

He had a joke in his stump speeches about how, if he were to walk on water, the headlines the next day would read “Jesse Jackson Can’t Swim”
How many of the media outlets eulogizing Rev. Jesse Jackson today spent decades trying to undermine his work & turn him into a punchline?

More importantly, Jesse Jackson recognized these people were just as much working-class as white dudes with hard hats in construction.
“He shined a light on jobs increasingly performed by minority and immigrant workers—janitors, hospital orderlies, home care workers—who were not yet on the nation’s radar during his presidential campaigns.”
Before there was Bernie, there was Jesse: showing up seemingly every time workers battled for a better deal on the job and a more just social order. Nobody fused the perspectives of race and class, nor battled more consistently for the claims of both, than Jesse Jackson. buff.ly/Ycz1CeH
