Gee, it sounds like you're responding to only what you can see in the skeet I quoted when I suggested you read the thread.
Hardly the first time you've made statements here after doing a very poor job of evaluating the information you were provided with, and it's getting more and more annoying.

I think there's also poor quality information going around about what this language really does. Certainly some confusion. You might want to take a look at this thread: bsky.app/profile/raha...
This is deeply misleading. The agricultural section of the bill does NOT ban hemp-derived cannabinoid products that contain less than .3% THC total. www.cannabisbusinesstimes.com/hemp/news/15...

That's correct, Cruz was the only Republican to vote with Rand Paul on Paul's amendment.

No, this vote was on Rand Paul's amendment that would have stripped the hemp restrictions from the full bill. I believe technically it was a vote to not debate/consider the amendment - which is why the "yes" votes mean the amendment is cooked, and the hemp language stays.

I say "historical" but perhaps only for white people/westerners. It still gets used by Alaska Native communities that govern themselves, sometimes temporarily for younger offenders.
Losing your community can be a kind of punishment that endures even if you find a new community that'll accept you.

I remember my mother explaining to me as a kid that that was why excommunication was so bad long ago, because you were shunned to the point where you couldn't live.
It's a form of exile, which is another historical punishment I haven't seen you mention.

So more jail than prison. Which is a distinction I wish more people were clear on.

But you have Hagar putting Ishmael on her back when she leaves, like an infant. The whole bit with her putting him under a bush and walking away is also suggestive of that.
The differences are less dramatic with Isaac, but he is called a "boy" and seems naïve.

A parent rising early and leaving with their child (a son of Abraham), that child being in mortal peril, then saved through divine intervention.
Also neither of them are as young as the narratives suggest. Ishmael was probably about 15. Isaac's age is harder to pin down, but Midrash puts it at 37.
