Probably the most hipster thing I’ve made. 😆 but I grew up with my parents constantly playing records and dancing around the house and when I figured out I could make slip mats I got so excited. So now available my gothic architecture slip mats! www.etsy.com/shop/MaskIll...

The second set of fools
December 16, 2025 at 6:49 AM
I had this idea for a parade of fools back in 2019. I knew it was gonna take a lot of time but I promised myself I would get it started this year as my Yuletide gift to myself. Here is the rough sketch of page 1 of 3

I am feeding my desire to make a silly Austin Powers 60’s style art nouveau poster.

What the rough sketching process looks like for me. Step 1 draw a face I like, step 2 add other large focal points (horse and fox) step 3 refine those animals and add designs in middle ground, step 4 maybe it’s a unicorn and add horizon line. Fuck AI I love this process, it brings me endless joy

I really love a light source and other artist's abilities to make the viewer feel emersed in a time and place. So I'm playing with colors and glow a bit rather than working completely flat. (I still love experimenting, learning and changing)

Here is the other color version. When I think about pieces I am drawn too, I love a muted color pallet. I piece that looks like it's had a life, bleached by sun and time. The colors also remind me of the cold winter nights while on a moonlit snowshoe with my family in the forests of Vermont.
