Alert to Western comics writers: I don't care how serious your anti-war comic is, if you put a post-apocalyptic setting, a throttling, and the word "pathetic" in the same scene, old weebs like me are going to laugh and then have to watch that fecking anime for the millionth time

Go Shmoo, get booed, is this anything
Reading about a cartoonist who had it all--popular syndicated strip, best-selling books, merchandise, media tie-ins, friendship with celebrities and politicians--but he became a bitter rightwing crank in his final years and seemed almost compelled to destroy his own legacy.

Taxonomy is really neat, it is made of turtle meat.
*Scientists are nerds*, entry eleventybillion.

There are at least two prehistoric turtles named after the comic-book kaiju: Gamera the flying, fire-breathing prehistoric turtle, shown here at the height of his *dizzying* power.
a turtle is walking across a metal beam
Alt: Gamera the kaiju, from Godzilla movies and comic books, a prehistoric turtle the size of a skyscraper. He's shown biting a metal or wooden stick and rotating along his long axis in an endless loop. It's making me dizzy.

As of today, I am a FULL professor. I do not care much for occupational status markers. Still, it is not lost on me that only 2% of full professors are Black women. This goes beyond personal accomplishment. It is a responsibility to do as much as I can for others. That is exactly what I aim to do.
