My entire life Republicans’ game has been to stymy, undercut & undermine when Democrats have power so they can point to the resulting failings as evidence progressive policies are dysfunctional & then they get power & aggressively gut every social gain & Dems are still like ‘maybe we can negotiate’

Senate Dems give in, letting the GOP take health care so they don't miss their Thanksgiving flights, and prove that the current party is out of touch.

Time for new blood. In this video, we show it's not just Mamdani. So many young guns are running and need your support.

Zohran Mamdani conquered. Other young Democrats can, too.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

On top of all this, tomorrow I get to choose my health insurance plan for next year, continuing a decades-long streak of paying more every year for less coverage every year.

So, is there a way to recall an elected official in Pennsylvania? If not, is there a mechanism to have a referendum on adding a recall provision to state law?

Moderate Democrats saw that voters were energized and might expect something from them, so they needed to put a stop to that ASAP

We’re all suffering because too many national Democrats have a public humiliation kink.
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

The one year I played soccer in college, we played a game in November, I think in the Lehigh Valley, when it was sleeting/snowing with 40-50 mph winds. It was miserable: ball hard as a rock, muscles couldn’t stay warm, weren’t allowed to cover our arms/leg on the field so slathered in Icy Hot

Holy shit a television ad where they claim that a state tax on online gambling is basically equivalent to taxing the air we breathe. Not sure the online casinos and sports books really want to let the average voter know that taxing them more to pay for things like SEPTA is an option.

the “cause people immense suffering during a shutdown so they demand your opponents end it” strategy is much more viable if you aren’t actively suing for the ability to inflict that suffering

Walking downstairs after tucking my wife in:
“I’m old, I think I’ll probably watch an old live show on Youtube. Or maybe the Muppet Show”
Gets on YouTube and it suggests Kermit the Frog and Debbie Harry singing “Rainbow Connection”
Me, tearfully, “thank you but also fuck you”

You can hear the transphobic sneer in these words.
