Happy Skaturday! Making some buttermilk pancakes and listening to The English Beat “I Just Can’t Stop It”. The cover of my copy is chewed up (literally) but the vinyl is clean and I paid $4 at a Half Price Books 20 years ago or so. #nowspinning
On the right is the album cover for The English Beat “I Just Can’t Stop It”, which is what the text reads. They are outlined in fuchsia, which is the only color on the album cover. She has a chunky fuchsia brackets on her right arm. Philly sunset happening.

I’m gonna do a little Skaturday action as well, inspired by @robotron.blog! This was a huge compilation in my high school friend group senior year when it came out, and I got a copy off Discogs last year. And yes, this is THAT No Doubt, way before they were famous.

Nine years ago today Dena and I went to the courthouse and got hitched. Most of our best friends from Austin were there to witness. That was a great day!

Just said goodbye to our dear sweet Wendy. We had almost 12 years together, which were very full but also thought we would have much more time. You will live forever in our hearts.

This is HEB Cerealology brand Cinnamon Mocha cereal. It was like a Mexican chocolate, with a spicy cinnamon and a rich coffee flavor, and lots of crunch, held up well in milk. It also had a lot of fiber. As far as I know, it was discontinued a couple of years ago although its still on their site.

This is what it looks like. Plain black plastic pot like you get when you buy a plant at the store. Pot is a foot tall I think. Plant is somewhere around 8-10” diameter, 3-4 inches above the dirt. The thorns are thick, strong, and curve inward, which is partially how it gets the name

Makes no sense to not go powder blue tonight. This is the promotional retro hat for tonight’s originally scheduled game:

Ready for #AEWDoN tonight. I still haven’t made my mind up between Team Hangman and Team Ospreay, because I’m not sure where the story goes best next with each as a winner and I love them both. But I DO know who I’m rooting for in the Women’s Owen Hart Cup final.

Dena kicked me out of the house and told me to go drink a couple of beers while it’s nice outside. Victory was the only Philly brewery we could get in Austin and I love Prima Pils.

My wife Dena, a cishet white woman with slightly longer than shoulder length brown hair with bangs. She has glasses. Shes wearing a Black Milk Animal Crossing dress but you can’t tell very well because of the red lights in the bar. She is drinking. A cocktail called a CBGB, which is served in a 12-oz metal can with stickers on it. The visible sticker is what we think is Lydia Deetz’s haircut from Beetlejuice. It is her birthday (Dena, not Lydia, although it could be because I don’t think that’s established in Beetlejuice lore).

Go Birds.
