there is no reason for anyone outside college-level and higher literature students and academics to be reading books written more than fifty years ago. yes, i mean adults and kids. yes, i mean in schools. yes, i mean in college unless someone is specializing in older literature. we need to stop wasting time with outdated garbage and teach students contemporary texts. all we’re doing is teaching them to hate reading and reject understanding the world as a result.

I hope things in our industry change for the better in the future. I will not allow anyone to feel this way again.
Sexism isn’t new in this industry, nor is it new to me, but during the last #DICE confernece, I experienced more sexism than I have in the 6 years I have been in games. Which says a lot because I was gamergated a few years ago. At DICE, I had men gawking at me, eyeing my body, licking their lips and snapping their neck to look at my behind. I was dismissed by several people, people assuming I am a student or someone’s assistant. I was not taken seriously or respected until someone vouched for me in conversation. This isn’t a new experience for most women in games, but I was painfully aware of it. Other women at the conference also were aware of men staring and eyeing me up, I confided in several people about how uncomfortable and uneasy it was making me. I have also had people try to make romantic and sexual advances towards me. I understand that is just part of the game industry culture for women but I am not interested in participating. I also don’t think that should be common practice. We are at a work event, please act accordinly and respect the women in this industry. This is my fourth DICE, and it will not be my last. I will not allow people in this industry to intimidate me from engaging with my peers and celebrating the people in this industry. I tell students and scholars all of the time to be careful and not allow anyone to harm you into silence. I figured it was time for me to take my own advice. I hope people see this and understand that this is an onging issue and something needs to change. I blame none of the organizers or anyone who works for DICE for any of this. They are all wonderful people and I see the work they do to make sure DICE is safe for everyone. The culture in our industry must change! I refuse to allow any one else to feel the way I felt at DICE.

Well, yes. Yes. I *did* see the first image and immediately need to bring it into my drawing program and fix the webs on "Web-Mans" suit.

And before you say anything, you are *also* not drawing the comic you're supposed to be drawing right now.

In this original version, the red portions of Web-Man’s suit cover his legs and the central back area, but the black web pattern is mistakenly drawn over the blue sections on his shoulders and arms instead of over the red areas. Spider-Man, on the right, wears his standard costume, with red on his mask, chest, gloves, and boots, and the black web pattern correctly placed over the red sections on his head, shoulders, and arms. A “POW!” burst marks the impact between them, and far below, small cars and pedestrians are visible on the street. The composition is the same, with both characters mid-air between buildings, exchanging punches with a “POW!” burst and speech bubbles. In this altered version, Web-Man’s costume has been adjusted so that the red sections still cover his legs and back, but the black web pattern now appears over those red areas instead of over the blue shoulders and arms. Spider-Man’s costume remains unchanged.

I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.
