I had a cousin who refused to serve in the Iraq War (tore ass off the military base in a stolen truck, went to prison) and knew of a guy who refused his second deployment (shot himself in the head) and I think "most US soldiers are poor and want insurance and education" is a good thing to remember.

This obsession with projecting your own interior experience on other people, and insisting that they're lying or deluded if they disagree, is the defining feature of TERF and SWERF stuff. It's a failure to accept that the world is full of other people who are not you.
