I think Nixon was the most "tragic Shakespearean character" we've ever had as POTUS.
He was extremely smart and talented, and also immensely flawed. He had the actual capacity to be one of the truly great leaders of the last 100 years, but never outran his personal demons.

So many core beliefs - whether you’re talking about Jesus or Mr Rogers or Bill & Ted - really just boil down to “don’t be a dickhead.” Being kind to others shouldn’t be revolutionary; it should just be how we conduct ourselves.

“You can still be rich even if you’re not a billionaire!” Sure—and if you strip billions from someone like Jeff Bezos, he’ll invest less in building things that actually improve people’s lives. Amazon has done more for the average person than the government could dream of.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.
