No one tells you that Christmas with a six month old feels a little bit like walking through a car wash

I think part of the reason this website can be a little messy is that, like early twitter, it tends to reward people for posting constantly and the type of person who posts constantly in 2025 is very different than the type of person who posted constantly in 2011

Turned 35 today. 34 was a pathetic age to tell people you are, 35 has been way better so far. A good, honest number. People respect it.

Sorry, when gathering up all our documents we neglected to remember the Trove Of One Million Documents

Puffy coat guy with a shitty little beard is alive and well in the Chicago suburbs, somehow unchanged between the 00s and now

Wrote an essay called "I didn't think it would be this dumb" back in 2023 after seeing videos of the first Computer Bullshit data centers (at the time, they were for mining bitcoin) and man it's crazy how much worse it's gotten. You know things are fucked up when you yearn for the NFT days

It's so funny when pro-AI guys think their big trump card is comparing AI to the rise of automobiles, like yeah brother I hate those too and have written extensively about why letting that fox into the henhouse was one of humanity's greatest mistakes

Can't tell if this is a bit or not but it got a big belly laugh out of me

The Chicago Bears ownership is in such a funny position because if they don't win the Super Bowl and move it's like okay good riddance enjoy Gary but if they DO win and still decide to move I'd be like whatever fine, narratively I have closure on this team and my curse to love them is broken

If they didn't want this, they shouldn't have spent ten years telling anyone even vaguely left of center to go kick rocks

The final battle for American politics has begun...the evil guys are really dumb but the good guys are 100 years old or on vacation for 44 weeks out of the year so it's anyone's ballgame really

Maybe it's cope as someone who's shot all his limited OTG stuff with it but I could see film having a resurgence of journalistic value in a world where anyone can point to a digital photo and say it's been manipulated in some way

Wrote about the first six months of parenthood and the frustration of trying to find a non-hacky way of explaining how it feels to look at your kid for the first time

Every now and then a friend will casually reveal the name of someone they grew up with and itll be the most insane name you've ever heard like "oh dang this kid I went to high school with, Randy Wetgrapes, went to jail"

I was just telling someone that I wished more of my leisure time could have a direct connection to an industry so wretched that it stains my soul forever

Much like Kermit the frog, Gollum is a real guy to me. I maintain the passive belief that he's out there somewhere wearing a baseball cap in an Erewhon
