There are some incredibly vital issues at this moment in time that go beyond like, oh we disagree on marginal tax rates but we can still be friendly. Trans rights are one of those issues. Trans rights are human rights and those are not negotiable. (see also: genocide; fascism. not unrelated!)

Can't help contrasting the way the Polari Prize is handling this with the classy way @lambdaliterary.org handled it when A***e D****r got nominated in 2016 and thinking "what the fuck is wrong with these people?"
The Polari Prize has issued a statement saying it is “pausing” the prize for this year. It says it is against transphobia in any form.

I won't use disabled toilets because I'm not disabled and disabled people need them
Also trans people are so dangerous that they can't be around cis people... unless those cis people are disabled then it's fine? It's pretty clear they just see both trans and disabled people as a class of non human

if we *are* going to talk ACA, RFK's HHS proposed a rule to remove *all trans care* from ACA essential health benefit status.
~25mil people are insured by ACA & if 1% are trans, that's 250,000 people who'd lose access to care.
