Picked up a stack of @thetransfemininereview.com recommendations from @christchurchlib.bsky.social ready to go off camping later in the week! This was half of my list and I honestly might tour the libraries this week to pick up the rest (cos these definitely aren’t more than enough already 🙄😅)

Enjoying my much needed break after a successful awards season.

I also feel like I picked a solid week to unplug from the 24/7 news ecosystem. Basically three out of every five things I've seen this week about American politics have been propaganda 🫠

Just finished watching what's out from Fallout Season Two and it's genuinely impressive how they've mixed and matched the worst endings of all the game's possibilities to make a uniquely horrifying pile of shit.

Whoever played New Vegas and came up with *this* is a sociopath.

Not just against The Hellworld but also for your hopes and your dreams and all the good shit. Fight for your own happiness. Fight to prove you deserve a space. You deserve to be heard and to thrive.

Still VERY pleased that @jemma.bsky.social won against tradepub authors--not because I think her competition wasn't good, but because she publishes with far less support (and money) than her counterparts. A Rotten Girl hit hard, and hit at the right moment.

Today, I wish to discuss how the difficult questions of third world feminism are elided and obscured by Western feminists---both white and not---and kindly ask feminists all over the world to grow a fucking pair.

Here's my final calendar for the 2025 #DecemberTransReadathon! I definitely did not manage to read every day, but 19 books in a month is nothing to sneeze at 🤧

Thank you to everyone who did the challenge this year! I'll include other folks' final calendars in the replies ⬇️

I've been building a 2026 tbr for myself with books I got recommended by friends, books I had on my tbr forever, books I wanted to read last year and didn't, books I currently have ARCs for or that I have on hold at my library. There's still place for 2026 releases. www.goodreads.com/review/list/...

So if you're a transfem author and you have a book coming out this year, preferably indie or self-pub, let me know in the replies to this and I will try and prioritize my reading around that :).
I do mostly read horror, sci-fi, weird & lesbian lit, so I will still be biased. #samreads.

Another thing I would really liked to do re my reading goals for 2026 is that I would like to read more 2026 releases by transfem authors who so far haven't really seen their work reflected in TFR's award. I know there are always a lot of works that I just haven't gotten around to reading last year.

I have a lot of big plans for 2026, but one of the lessons I learned last year is that I have a bad habit of saying I'll do a big project then doing something completely different.

So this year I'm gonna write the big projects *first,* and then tell y'all about them.
