Seen a lot of people wondering why X, The Everything App would have a feature that gives away how much of the popular right wing accounts are foreign actors and this is why. They thought every left wing account would be that way because every accusation is also a confession.
Planned Parenthood uses a VPN so its twitter location is shown as Germany and now all of MAGA twitter thinks Planned Parenthood is a fake organization based in Europe.

Isn't it so weird to deeply know in your bones something obvious with no equivocation, for years and years, and then to one day see articles about people wondering if maybe the incredibly obvious thing you've known this whole time might be happening, as if the media is discovering it now??
“This is total armageddon for the online right. It’s looking like half of their large accounts were foreigners posing as Americans all along.”

Maybe if people think the Democratic Party is "weak" it is not because they think that Democrats "care about other people" but that they "fold every single time."
This shit is why people don’t trust the Democratic Party.

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”

Saying “we have to keep the status quo because the alternative is bad” ends up making people feel like you’re either gaslighting or out of touch, because the status quo actually sucks for a lot of people.

It’s going to look different in every place. It doesn’t have to be Mamdani. But a focus on kitchen table issues doesn’t mean just shouting “this other guy is gonna make your kitchen table issues worse!”

It means having a vision for a better future.

I really don’t understand why it’s so hard for certain people to understand that Mamdani is doing so well because he is advocating for more than “keep Trump from taking the few good and/or semi-decent things that remain” and is articulating a real vision for how to make New York better.

I sincerely hope Democrats pay attention to tonight’s results across the country. They won’t learn anything but still. Maybe. People are excited by change and original campaigns and bold ideas and candidates under the age of 50!

If you are a Democratic senator watching these results and the lesson you take is "I should cave and help Republicans reopen the government for nothing more than a promise written on toilet paper" then you shouldn't be in the Senate anymore
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

Someone once said something to the effect of "you don't have to take white people's money. Give them someone to look down on and they'll empty their pockets for you" and it's really fucking sad how true it continues to be

The bigger loser of the night isn't just the Republican Party but the news media that continues to pander to them relentlessly to the point that they're not even reporting real news but imaginary news to placate them.

Stop reading them. Stop tuning into them. They're corporate hacks.

the fundamental confusion between 'democratic party policies' and 'things said by people on twitter, most of whom hated the democratic party' strikes again
how many of these "Democratic policies" were in the 2024 Democratic Party platform document? 1? maybe 2?

compare that to the list of unpopular Republican policies, 13 of which Trump has accomplished since taking office, and most of which have been floated by admin officials as possible priorities
