A reminder that according to Fetterman's own former staffers, Fetterman had a meeting with J-Street president Jeremy Ben Ami in which he told Ben Ami that he believes Arabs are like a "carton of sour milk" and that we should get back to killing.

"Kill them all" Fetterman is reported as having said.

it should be required reading for NY DSA chapters.

One thing the NYC mayoral race underscored for me is how easily the phrase "I don't feel safe" can be weaponized. It's an argument I would hesitate ever to use again, even for a good cause. I hope we can all agree that we have the right to BE safe. Maybe we should leave it at that.

Karlyn, I hope you and your friends heard me when I said: My views aren’t the reason you’re lonely & can’t afford groceries. Your enemies aren’t us, your enemy is a government that’s put the interests of billionaires over your interests. We have no power over you, but they do.

“Our role in the movement is not to elect progressives and then step back. There are no prophets and no heroes — not even our fresh-faced Mamdani. Our movements will keep having to fight across all fronts — through ballots and community meetings and protests.”
For @inthesetimes.com I argued that "New Yorkers will only win the campaign promises Mamdani ran on  if they keep the movement that elected him alive." I am so happy to see the 104,000 volunteers are not going home....

This gorgeous piece from @hebagowayed.bsky.social is a must read! The casual Islamophobia hurled at Mamdani's campaign over the last few weeks has struck such a nerve for so many of us.
Friends— here it is. Updated & expanded thanks to the space afforded to me in the @therumpus.net & the guidance of the brilliant @roxanegay.bsky.social’s edits. The win centers Muslims humanity — but what does that mean in a country that rejects that?

Of course mainstream media is focusing on the identities of the winners, but don’t fall for it. what made them win was their politics. Affordability. Reproductive rights. Trans rights. Opposition to genocide.
November 5, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Let's not resurrect representation as a simple goal. I wouldn't have wanted a Muslim candidate to win if he wasn't running on affordability, on taxing the rich, on opposing genocide, on supporting trans rights, etc. That he is Muslim is just the delicious icing on top of this win.
