🚨 With a 60-40 vote (the same breakdown as yesterday’s vote), the Senate has PASSED their negotiated federal budget deal.

The deal now goes to the House. Floor vote is expected on **WEDNESDAY**

Senate Dems caved and agreed to this crappy deal to get a future vote on the ACA.

Well, they just got one.

What are we doing here, people?
UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

tl;dr: the tentative Senate budget deal sucks.

The deal still needs a final vote to pass the Senate, and it must pass the House. There's still room here for course correction with heavy constituent pressure, but it's moving fast.

NEW: Trump is asking Supreme Court to act by 9:30pm tonight to block the ruling that requires SNAP payments to be made.

The Senate is working through the weekend to find a way out of the shutdown. The House would rather keep blocking a new Democratic member and the Epstein files.
Speaker Johnson is officially keeping the House in recess again next week. This will be the eighth consecutive week the House has been out of session. The chamber hasn't met since Sept. 19. Adelita Grijalva, who was elected on Sept. 23, has not been sworn in.

Trump is **defying the court orders** to withhold SNAP funding. That is how much he'd rather starve 42 million Americans than lower your health care costs.

The cruelty is the point.

Two federal judges have ruled that the Trump admin must release the legally required SNAP contingency funds.

Of course, they can always appeal the rulings or just not do what they're told if they really wanna starve 42 million children, seniors, and working Americans...
