Gonna play more before I say more, but I'm enjoying the political elements a lot more now that I can see just how wide a net it casts in its satire. I think I was reading it in light of its reputation as Communism: The Game. I'm starting to suspect that some fans do not catch when it satirizes them.
It’s been compelling for long enough (I’m towards the end of day two) that I’m confident co-signing its reputation as a great RPG, but I gotta say: I hate it politically. As a piece of *communist* art specifically, it presents the least appealing, most cynical, nihilistic, fascist-enabling politics.
Finally started Disco Elysium and I’m honestly not sure what to think of it. I know I’m Supposed To Love It but it plays awkwardly and I’m skeptical of its reputation as having such good politics. It feels nihilistic and didactic at the same time. On the other hand, I’m engrossed.
