This level of sweatily buck passing cowardice is usually not seen outside of the second tier bad guy getting his comeuppance in a kids movie.
Hegseth: I watch that first strike live. At the Department of War, we got a lot of things to do so I did not stick around. Couple of hours later, I learned that commander had made -- which he had the complete authority to do, he made the correct decision to sink the boat and eliminated the threat.

That Hegseth is an eager proponent of war crimes and those who commit them is not news, but damnit its still wild that we will do things like confirm a Sec of Defense that writes about encouraging his men to violate the laws of war and JAG legal instructions

Lots of "it's not really authoritarian" etc takes skip over details like how Trump refuses to let a majority-Republican Senate have a say in who runs several U.S. Attorney's Offices. It's profoundly anti-democratic, and by itself strong evidence of corruption and malfeasance.

Ive scrolled so far and still have utterly no idea what prompted the current resurgence in relitigating the Falklands. And while it is as settled a debate as whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie (it is), I am always here for it.
