Pardon-proof idea: extradite Hegseth and anyone in the chain of command to Venezuela.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

It goes back to first principles: take care of people first and as a sound safety net and standard of living are achieved, by all means, let's pursue a well-regulated tech regime with the twin prongs of renewable energy and supercomputing. Anyone who thinks the left are luddites is wrong.
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

No no - President.
In a more sensible and serious world, Mark Kelly would take Pete Hegseth’s job as secretary of defense, @radiofreetom.bsky.social argues:
Senator Mark Kelly Is in the Wrong Job
He should be secretary of defense.

It's probably 75% this, yes, but more of these people would be exposed to the governing ideas of an opposition if state House and Senate seats weren't gerrymandered to all shit. Some 'ruby red' states would be much more purple if this were the case.
People want to believe that the GOP’s electoral success in red states is the result of dirty tricks and gerrymandering instead of the sincerely held beliefs of a majority of the population because a mechanical issue is easier to fix than wrestling with how to make people not believe what they do.

This is why we call Republicans weird. Because they want to fuck kids.

Sooo, all of the people he hates just so happen to be guilty of the exact same crime??

(or were mortgage records the only ones they could illegally access???)
FOX: Fox can now confirm that Eric Swalwell has been criminally referred to the DOJ accused of mortgage fraud.

He's so cool - Bowdoin granted him a two year leave of absence to go study languages in Europe and he *immediately* went and enlisted and didn't tell any of his family.

A True Believer in a Righteous Cause.
not a professional soldier, not some chud who grew up dreaming of war. he wanted to teach the next generation. he wanted to study the classics. but the war came

I am a part of a place - Manheim Gardens in KCMO - that asks nothing of you other than your open heart. Each passing day it feels more and more sacred. Just know these places exist, the people who run them are aware, and we want you to join as a massive act of resistance.

one thing i find crazy-making is the idea that getting rid of the filibuster would make congress a purely majoritarian institution. bicameralism itself is counter-majoritarian! equal state representation is counter-majoritarian! the fact that senate elections are staggered is counter-majoritarian!

Yet another reason why my tattoo of an onion seems preordained.
Was this the best use of my time today? No. Is it the most amusing way I could have spent the last 90 minutes? Absolutely. Pattern is free here: bit.ly/4nGGCGc

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Someone this old and so obviously in ill health who gets this confused about things that matter would not be allowed to hold a job with responsibility in any other part of American society.
Trump: "For generations Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa. I mean, if you take a look at what's going on in parts of South Africa. Look at South Africa, what's going on. Look at South America, what's going on. You know, we have a G20 meeting in South Africa."

Brilliant. Should be a model everywhere
I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

At the end of all the celebration, there's this: The Work.

Of rekindling the American dream by crushing utility monopolies, making housing more affordable, & bringing the health insurance scam-dustry to heel once and for all.

We're going to do this and extradite Stephen Miller as a treat.
There will be lots of talk that America moved leftward last night. It didn't. It moved downward and discovered there is more bipartisan vulnerability at the bottom of the K than people thought.

Can I add to the overall good news? KS R's were trying to get signatures to call a special redistricting session to gerrymander Sharice David's seat & they gave up cuz not enough would sign! 🤭
Kansas legislators won't have a special session to join the US redistricting battle
The Kansas House's top Republican has given up for now on forcing a special session of the Legislature to redraw the state’s U.S.

Yeah the Barack Obama School of Oratory did a lot of damage actually - waaaaay too many 'Let me be clears' in the past decade.
I have actually not seen Mamdani give a formal speech and what I’ll say is that unlike so many of his peers he is not trying to mimic anyone in his delivery. He is simply being himself and it is very effective.
I’ve been interested in political speeches for as long as I can remember. I’ve listened to nearly every inaugural and major address, and I’ve given tons of public speeches myself.

Zohran’s talent in this arena ranks among the best. He’s damn good. Hella good. Remarkably good.

Crazy to watch.
