We know from recent hacks, and even the Snowden revelations, how vulnerable information gathered is to theft and misuse, says Guardian columnist Simon Jenkins

i am going completely insane watching gamers make up shit about horses and interrogating every single thing the devs have said for inconsistencies and then deciding well it probably had cp in it. this is the easy mode version of the kinds of censorship that are to come and you're failing like babies

In estimates today the Department confessed to me that older people are having their My Aged Care data stolen by providers for use in sales calls.

This is aged care under Labor: jacking up out-of-pocket costs then letting telemarketers loose to gouge vulnerable people even more.

yeah the harsh reality is that we do take a chance on small games no one's heard of a lot more often than anyone thinks we do. but literally no one reads the articles, which then reinforces to the powers that be that they're not worth doing. I don't know how to solve that problem!

I don't want to be too judgmental, but every single proponent of the glories of AI is a complete wanker

Fucking ridiculous behaviour. Way to disappoint everyone that went out of their way to support you and claim you were different than the liberals.

The report was originally commissioned “to enhance integrity and trust in government institutions” lol

"I'm a game developer."

"Oh? Anything I've heard of?"

First off, I have no idea what your gaming could even potentially look like. But second, this really sounds like "Have you worked on anything important enough for me to treat you differently?"
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Trump just gave a commutation to David Gentile, a private equity executive who defrauded investors of $1.6B.

Meanwhile, Trump's regime has also scrapped enforcement actions against over 160 corporations accused of misconduct.

A new Golden Age for corporate criminals.

All this god damned AI garbage. And jammed into everything, we're already living through massive enshitification.

I doubt it will take more than a couple months before every AI has built in advertising and promotions it has to cram into every prompt. The system is bad now. Imagine dealing with ads.

I get the impulse to make the point, but "don't call it a war crime because it's not an actual war" isn't really how that works. Multiple kinds of illegality can overlap. There are onion layers of unlawfulness about all this, and some fall under the rubric of war crimes regardless of other aspects.

We're stoked to introduce the 'No Gen AI' seal for indie games!

Indie devs can use it on their game's store page to assure potential players that their game was made without the use of Generative AI.

You can grab it from the Polygon Treehouse website:-

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

If you, like me, want to watch payment processors suffer AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE? Call from the day before Black Friday to like the day before Christmas at minimum.

I know it's hard to have a perpetual campaign, so think of it as just this month for now.
Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season
