It’s important to note that @pnwpolicyangel.bsky.social has, for months, in official and personal communications, clearly, repeatedly, and exhaustively articulated the problems posed by the separation of powers in city government and the supremacy clause, including to members of this unhappy group
Continually impressed by this group’s principled refusal to understand government or politics
The state of Portland left politics is a group of mostly white presumably born-in-USA people from FRSO accusing Angelita Morillo, an immigrant, of not caring about ICE abducting people in Portland and being performative.

We're doing ultra leftism on crack tonight.

Lots of leftists speaking at tonight's Portland City Council meeting seem to think the city has the ability to take on the federal government in some impossible ways

Shoutout to all my fellow champs, chiefs, and kings. ✊

bush v gore is the hinge upon which basically everything awful from the last quarter century swings on
i don't think that bush v. gore is the *worst* ruling in the history of the supreme court, but i do think it is the most openly *corrupt* ruling in its history. a real disgrace.

Being a squirrel must feel like being in an action movie a lot of the time. Lots of high stakes tree parkour and chase scenes interspersed with eating and naps

PBoT could be doing awesome stuff, but instead continue to choose the most car-brained nonsense possible
Well, PBOT got what they wanted and the street seating at Taqueria Los Puñales has been removed. But at least we have two extra parking spaces on Belmont.

There’s a widespread misconception that western society stagnated in the Middle Ages but actually they were just really focused on designing different little hats for people to wear based on their social station. “Modernity” came about when Italians set the hat stuff aside and invented modern racism

Deyna Castellanos is my least favorite Thorn ever to watch, I think. I was never a big Carli Lloyd fan and Castellanos is like all of Lloyd's worst freelancing tendencies without most of the good outcomes or any of the other good stuff Lloyd did.
November 15, 2025 at 6:34 PM
The most fascinating part of this Thorns season is it's less clear now than at the onset how good a coach Rob Gale is. Has he managed a strong locker room or just relief in Coffey and Arnold? Is he a tactical maniac who loves Castellanos and hates width or did the roster and injuries force his hand?

There are lots of things that the bible sends mixed messages on - it's why theological debate exists.

But the one thing the christian bible is pretty consistent on is, "fuck them rich people."

The copy here is an all-time example of NY Times passive voice. Matt Gaetz has no agency here.

Even in the image, look at the phrase "left vulnerable to exploitation." Who exploited her?
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

I’m fine conceding that a bunch of nebulously incriminating Epstein statements do not a story make, but in that case neither does the Biden Parkinson’s nonsense, or literally any component of the various Clinton/Wikileaks pseudo-scandals, or tons of other right-wing stuff the paper has laundered
