I really liked the part of Carney’s speech where he admits that the old world order was largely built on bullshit. Just after he was introduced as, essentially, a grand wizard of the old world order.

Scott Moe on national unity: "The challenges that we're facing today are not coming from Ottawa in our perspective, they are coming from other countries around the world. We need to work together to defend our Canadian economy and our Canadian way of life."

when the BCNDP formed a minority government in July 2017, I was at VANDU doing the Tuesday Education & Action group so my first question I asked was, “what’s needed to improve your housing situation?”

And this guy Gary growls, “I need some fucken duct tape to fix the cardboard house I live in.”

I don't understand all the people applauding Carney's speech at the big capitalist convention.

Daniel's thread sums up my read perfectly.

It's admission that capitalism is a lie, and that Carney was an informed yet willing participant.
"Every morning, the shopkeeper places a sign in his window: “Workers of the world unite.” He doesn’t believe in it. No one does."

Is an interesting way to tell everyone that we live in a society that is based on a lie.

If you want to see if someone treats politics like a team sport, watch how they respond to journalism that is less than positive about a party or a politician they like.

It's ridiculous.
The vitriol when you do anything other than uncritically praise Carney on threads is unmatched.

It’s also fascinating how they manage to trigger my imposter syndrome with the perfect combo of deep, unrelenting condescension and attacks on my journalistic skill lmao

The groupthink there is brutal

It’s not just McBride.

I’m not sure the public realizes how deeply the 🇨🇦 + 🇺🇸 military integrated.

So if CAF are carrying out Trump’s orders on exchange - what happens if there’s a conflict between the two country’s interests?

We can't build power by only asking for votes at election time. We need to be organizing in our communities 365 days a year.

That means turning every one of our 343 riding associations across the country into hubs for community organizing and mutual aid.

It’s convenient to say this now that a western country is being threatened with U.S. imperialism
These are the same leaders that praised the toppling of Maduro so the hypocrisy is clear

Can’t be on both sides of a rupture, can’t wait out a rupture, can’t take a wait-and-wait approach to a rupture

Carney’s lack of decisive action makes his words empty
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct.
