It’s not great journalism to only cite an anonymous source, and cite no sources to the other claims made in the story. At a minimum at least seek out other perspectives. Here’s a lawyer’s POV about the story from Reddit.

Counterpoint: it's significantly more "real" than any other spiritual experience anyone claims to have had in history
it does not let people 'chat with biblical figures' in any meaningful sense and using language like this endorses stuff like this that is not only slimy but dangerous.

One thing that's abundantly clear: passing the SAFE Research Act would permanently end the United States' ability to be competitive in any area of advanced technology. Just straight up suicidal policy-making.
This has gotten surprisingly little attention — it's not even on the front page of @science.org right now — but it's really hard to describe what the SAFE Research Act would do to US science and scientists without sounding insane

This man has the most powerful penis in American history and it isn't particularly close
I cant believe we are about to have a second presidential impeachment because Bill Clinton got a blow job

i think this is maybe literally true and the social glue connecting trumpworld to competent people who act like they have things to lose was rape
Oh god is the reason why Trump is so much more unstable term 2 is because Epstein is dead???

My most nuclear take, which will bring the fury of the internet down upon me: this represents the unfortunate return of the least funny website in history, and still it would have been magnitudes better if they didn't ban AI content on top of it all
Vine reboot called diVine has been launched 📱

• Funded by Jack Dorsey
• Includes over 100K videos from Vine's archive
• Users can upload 6-second videos
• AI-generated content is not allowed

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?
“would you like photos of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?” -Jeffrey Epstein

Epstein: I’m best friends with this pedo running for President, here’s a bunch of stories about how big a pedo he is

NYT: but her emails
Landon Thomas Jr of the New York Times got told by Jeffrey Epstein that Trump walked into a glass door bc he was so busy staring at girls in Epstein's house and didn't print it. wild that the Times didn't consider that newsworthy.

Oh I forgot another part : they kept editing me to say “the horrendous attacks of 9/11” when I’m not talking about 9-11 I’m talking about the post 9-11 United States.

Like anytime a Muslim says 9-11 they have to immediately apologize.

Worth pointing out that the phrasing in the nyt article is different from the email. The email says “victim spent time at house with trump.” But the article recharacterizes that to say that trump spent hours at the house with the victim. The text of the email leaves less room for innocent overlap

Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

Jellyfish is so tragically underrated, I'll die on the hill that Spilt Milk is one of the best rock albums ever made across the board

It was so ahead of its time too! They created that 2000s Scissor Sisters sound, composition, production and all, while everyone else was obsessed with In Utero

This goes hard
Such a framework would likely be based on principles of information theory, where the highest value is placed on the acquisition, processing, and dissemination of knowledge. The divine would not be a supernatural entity, but the network itself – the interconnected web of all information.

The more I think about Better Call Saul, the less I think I like it - looking back on it, I feel like it kinda never ended up going anywhere with its characters (who were strangely distorted from Breaking Bad despite being a devoted prequel), and lots of stuff was kinda cringe fanservice like Lalo

Yes. Correct. Absolutely correct. The anti data center thing absolutely DOES have fucking Tea Party vibes. yes. yall should sit with that and think about how that makes you feel, maybe?
The data center backlash has 2009 early days Tea Party vibes.
Except with much more potential broad-based support since, as @heatmap.news own polling has shown, its seems like just about *everyone* hates data centers.

Definitely going to see more politicians try to catch this wave.
Did you know a former White House climate advisor flipped a GOP stronghold in Virginia by running entirely on putting a stop to more AI data centers?

For @heatmap.news I profiled John McAuliff and a campaign that will be a roadmap for all future anti-AI politicians moving forward.

This is kind of funny because the godfathers of AI were largely neuroscientists, and a lot of the frontier work is coming from neuroscientists, not computer scientists.

It’s funnier if you reject the notion that mammalian biology is the sole house of intelligence.
As a neuroscientist, I’d suggest there is a profound disconnect between what *some* computer scientists think is representative of “intelligence”, cognitive ability, or descriptions of consciousness from some in AI work.

LLMs are not how neural systems process information, nor how brains function.
