After almost 11 years together, many of which we basically saw each other as spouses, Mandy and I are married. 🥰

Went to the courthouse yesterday and just had a small intimate ceremony today. It was snowing outside as it happened.

Our rivals 😤

In all seriousness, though, that sounds cool. I take it you got to use their ginormous outdoor swimming pool.

I went to a bougie prep school in Tennessee (on scholarship, my parents aren't rich like that)

You'd be surprised at how many kids of millionaires fit this mould
You would think that ‘wannabe white trash’ cannot possibly be a real genre of person and yet it describes Kid Rock and most of his remaining fans

Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner is pretty good too. That whole album is just straight bangers, really.

If forced to choose, I'd probably pick that as my favorite Zevon song

Xorientation makes a big deal about how there are azaleas at a place they don't grow natively.

In part, this is because azaleas are a type of rhododendron, which are used to make mad honey, which is relevant to the story.

But it's also meant to be a subtle nod to this poem.

The one nice thing I’ll say about Kid Rock is that “All Summer Long” is kind of a bop

Mashing up "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Werewolves of London" for a beat was pretty inspired, and I am a big time Zevon girlie.

Reminds me a bit in its message of my favorite poem, Kenneth Rexroth's "Another Spring"

Grazing and feed for cattle consumes about 60% of agricultural land

If you wanted to do one thing to drastically reduce the impact of agriculture, it would be to end beef consumption.
I have immense respect for indigenous cultures. However, it is deeply impractical to feed 8+ billion people sustainably and reliably without high-tech industrial agriculture.

Ultimately, this is just reactionary, conservative pastoralism wrapped in leftist framing.
