All these movies about how AI is secretly sensitive and creative are really failing to read the room, huh? It's not Frankenstein; it's asbestos.

I can’t even fall back to sleep right now
Yesterday the President fell asleep, yet again, during a televised fake Cabinet meeting staged so that each of his courtiers could heap praise on him, praise for which he couldn't stay conscious. He woke up just long enough to spew racism. Why is this not being treated as an emergency? >

This is the thing; we should be able to analyze accommodations as threatening not only established and well defended hierarchies of ability but also race, gender and class.
What people allegedly worried about ‘too many accommodations’ are really concerned about is the dilution of their privilege
they got there by using a system intended to help able bodied and wealthy white men

they've been getting a lot of accommodations for a very long time

I’ve been teaching tennis for 25 years now. Lots and lots of women’s teams, leagues, etc. maybe come across 2/3 who were trans. No one cared. Everyone just played and competed and never thought twice. This is disgusting.
SCOOP: The United States Tennis Association (USTA) quietly updated its player eligibility policy to ban trans women from competing as women in their leagues, tournaments and competitions in order to comply with Trump's anti-trans sports executive order. The policy went into effect on Monday.

Religion note: Remember that pastor who was arrested protesting an ICE detention facility outside Chicago recently? The one who was photographed on the ground as officers arrested him?

That's Rev. Michael Woolf, and this is his church.

Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

Stoppard had a pretty definitive politics (staunch, classical conservatism), but his work explored alternating philosophies with curiosity and without prejudice. You got the sense that he wrote because he needed to know. And he was a born entertainer, a vaudevillian. A miracle of art.

Perry: The pro-Hitler problem with the American right
