When I interviewed & wrote about incarcerated teen girls, I specifically used the language of girls as a rejection of the prison & people within who offered referred to them as young women or ladies. People with power will always describe girls as adults so they can justify the harm they inflict.
Also, "underage women" isn't a thing. If they're under age, they're not women. That's what under age literally means.

When I coached high school sports, they made it a point to make sure we called them “boys tennis” and “girls tennis” and not men’s and women’s.

I voted for Bernie in the primary in both 16 and 20…but I’ve always said he is terrible at politics.He had a real chance to continue the movement Obama started and gain a lot of his supporters.Instead he talked only of what Obama did wrong and threatened a primary.
