That was not my intent. My intent was to point out some of the concerns I've been hearing & that commentary from those outside of tx aren't helping if they are stirring up infighting among democrats which is exactly what the tx gop is wanting.

Wasn't making excuses. Just relaying what I am hearing in my area. Jasmine is formidable and I & my neighbors were excited at the prospect of being her constituents if she stayed in the House when we were redistricted from Veasy. Just disappointed that she chose the harder, statewide instead.

I’ve seen a lot of questions on these lines, and the quick answer is that once the federal government purchases the property (including the land the warehouse sits on), local governments cannot regulate them or tax them. They are now federal properties and so the Supremacy Clause applies.
