If you're still posting there and think you can win hearts and minds or something, this is what you're up against. You're never going to win a rigged game.

So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important
⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.

For our October issue I wrote about the Roberts Court for its 20th anniversary, how it helped lead us to the current crisis, and what should be done about it:

Ah, I see, shadow docket *plus* rocket docket for whatever Trump needs.

Reminder that the emoluments clause case filed by Maryland & DC started June 12, 2017 and then was stalled for so long that SCOTUS dismissed it in January 2021 without a decision because Trump losing made it moot.
#BREAKING: Over dissents from Justices Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson, #SCOTUS grants a stay in the Slaughter case (allowing President Trump to remove the last Dem member of the FTC), *and* grants certiorari "before judgment" to decide whether to formally overrule its 1935 ruling in Humphrey's Executor.

It's very important for our democracy that many people in this regime go to prison during the coming era of truth, reconciliation, and accountability.
1. BREAKING

In an undercover operation last year, the FBI recorded Tom Homan, now the White House border czar, accepting $50,000 in cash after indicating he could help the agents — who were posing as business executives — win government contracts in a second Trump administration.
Tom Homan was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. Trump's DOJ shut it down.
The FBI and Justice officials closed the investigation, which a Justice Department appointee had called a “deep state” probe in early 2025.

Emil Bove knew.

And they made the investigation go away.

A corrupt attempt to conceal brazen graft.

There’s a huge opportunity here for green social housing. Even with these zoning changes, new construction faces headwinds, especially for lower-income residents. But the state is now opening space—literally—for the subsidized construction of beautiful, climate-friendly, mixed-income homes.
California's SB 79 has now passed the State Senate, after passing the State Assembly yesterday. It's now on to the governor's desk.

It's a big change in zoning policy for California's cities that will encourage substantial additional housing in neighborhoods around the state's transit stations.
