Putin got the red carpet treatment from Trump because Putin is willing to give the Trump family billions in bribes to sell out Europe to the Russians.

People Who Drink Bottled Water on a Daily Basis Ingest 90,000 More Microplastic Particles Each Year
Drinking water in plastic bottles contains countless particles too small to see. New research finds that people who drink water from them on a daily basis ingest far more microplastics than those who…

I was really all about Stranger Things in 2023 but man that energy has zapped. I tried watching the newest season, first episode and got really bored. That 2020-2023 pandemic mentality has completely worn off on me.

'gig work has declined from the 1990s to now' seems counterintuitive, but I think one cause is that there was a *bunch* of gig work in the 1990s that has now largely disappeared, been automated, or gone overseas.

Young people arent attending anti-Trump rallies because they did the biggest protests ever in 2020 yet nothing changed. Then Election 2024 and MAGA 2.0 basically repudiated them. They're demoralized and exhausted. Social media burnout has negatively impacted their health so they're taking a break

In addition to all that: a dishwasher stores your dirty dishes completely out of sight and scent. Hard weeks where you dont have time to do the dishes and the sink piles up with dishes, stench and flies? All in the dishwasher; the kitchen smells great. Zero case for handwashing dishes, sorry.
People who want to get morally superior about how they hand-wash everything really gotta reckon with the fact that machine dish-washing uses considerably LESS water and emits considerably fewer greenhouse emissions than standard handwashing practices do.

(And you save a lot of time...)

People who live in Silicon Valley and who have not yet been driven absolutely insane by living in Silicon Valley are never going to leave. Never. They aren't going to care about a new tax. If they cared about taxes they would have already left!!
People imagine that billionaires will do the Joe Rogan thing where they pick up their entire life and move to Texas but actual super rich tech people aren't gonna do that shit, it's still too important for them to be in Silicon Valley

We should ask why it’s so easy for terms and concepts like “Heritage American” and “Western Chauvinism” are met with earnest analysis and exploration while academic theory produced by Black scholars are summarily dismissed by people reading introductory texts if that.

Gen Z are romantacizing 2008 - 2011 on tiktok and while I look back at those years as pretty bad, I do wish to relive 2008 once more just to appreciate Obamamania as an adult. I only got to experience it as a kid and in otherwise dark times it seemed so enthralling.

Its not even worth writing longform essays debunking heritage American. It doesnt apply to decedents of African slaves with 400 years in the USA. Nor Hispanics with southwest pre-anglo ancestry. Nor Native Americans. By definition, its discredited. QED. Good bye.

It drives me nuts too but its literally how the American criminal justice system treats death by driver. If you can prove you were just a typical American driver and not trying to commit a homicide, you might spend at most a week in jail, if not that.
This kind of reasoning drives me nuts. No, the driver did not set out to kill anyone with her car that night, but she did do something known to be incredibly dangerous with consequences anyone could have expected. Obviously she didn't intend to harm another person. But she also didn't intend not to.
