Husband. Father. U.S. Senator for California. Fighting for an economy that works for everyone and for our democracy.
Last night's so-called deal was a tragically disappointing result for the millions of Americans who are facing higher health care costs next year, and for our efforts to confront this bully of a President. I voted no.

Let's talk about where we go from here. youtu.be/Zc-sUG6myqE?...

First, Trump pardoned the violent insurrectionists who beat cops.

Now, he pardons the key instigators of January 6th.

We need to see this for what it is:

An attempt to erase history, so it can be repeated.

The President is begging the courts to let him CAUSE hunger.

Who does that?

I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

While millions of Americans are facing hunger and higher costs, the president is busy playing golf and finding new ways to enforce his cruel agenda.

Now there are TWO lists the White House won't release.

First it was the Epstein Files. Now it's who's paying for Trump's Golden Ballroom.

Apparently, the only promises the President keeps are those that benefit himself and his billionaire friends.

This is what happens when Congress allows the President to appoint his criminal defense lawyers to run the Justice Department.

The Trump Administration will go to any length — including appeal to the highest court in the land — if it means they can cut off food for hungry people.

What is wrong with them?

In 1969, 74 Americans lost their lives aboard the USS Frank E. Evans.

Because of where the ship sank, those sailors have been denied the honor and recognition of being placed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.

It is long past time to right that wrong.

Americans are fed up with the high cost of living.

And Republicans have a chance to do something about it.

Time for them to work with Democrats to address the rapid rise in health care costs and end the shutdown.

California's elections are not rigged.

Trump isn't even on the ballot today and he's still pushing baseless conspiracy theories to undermine confidence in our elections.

But Californians are having none of it.

Great to have CSU San Marcos President Ellen Neufeldt visit our nation's capital.

To support the groundbreaking research being done at CSUSM, we need to ensure access to critical federal funds.

I’m doing all I can to make it so.

Today is Election Day, California.

Donald Trump said ICE raids haven't gone far enough.

Kristi Noem said no citizens have been detained in these raids.

But we know the truth. Because we have story after heartbreaking story that proves otherwise.

Listen to these brave Americans in their own words.

In September, the administration gave Congress notice of the first strikes on boats in the Caribbean “consistent with the War Powers Resolution.”

Now, after 60 days, it says the Resolution does not apply, claiming that these strikes do not constitute hostilities.
Trump administration tells Congress war law doesn’t apply to cartel strikes
The Office of Legal Counsel told select lawmakers that the executive branch is not bound by the War Powers Resolution, which requires congressional approval for any military action that exceeds 60 day...

⁨⁨California sued to ensure millions of families don't go hungry this week because of Donald Trump.

The court sided with us.

Now the administration must stop dragging its feet, follow the court order, and fully fund SNAP benefits before families go hungry.⁩⁩

The law is clear.

As USDA’s own staff earlier agreed.

And now the law is upheld.

Donald Trump cannot withhold SNAP food assistance to inflict even more pain during his shutdown.

The largest war ship in the world has been moved to the Caribbean, along with other ships, bombers, amphibious vehicles and more.

That’s a lot of firepower to stop small vessels carrying drugs.

It looks a lot more like preparation for war.

Congress needs to get involved before it’s too late.

More than five million Californians, including children and seniors, rely on food assistance.

Trump’s refusal to provide SNAP benefits will force millions to go hungry.

There’s no policy behind this. Just cruelty.

Paying more for your coffee?

A bipartisan Senate voted last night to cancel Trump's tariffs on Brazilian coffee.

Why the tariff?

Because Donald Trump likes their old wannabe dictator who tried to overturn his last election.

While Trump cozies up to autocrats, your costs go up.

More Americans are having trouble making their car payments.

That’s concerning for a lot of reasons.

Donald Trump is abusing the pardon power as a means of rewarding his family, his allies & his wealthy donors.

I'm headed to the floor with @warren.senate.gov to attempt to pass a resolution condemning his pardon of crypto billionaire Changpeng Zhao—the latest in a long string of corrupt clemencies.
