I’ve entered this music video I made into an international competition for hobby musicians and I’d be enormously grateful to anyone who could give it a “like” on YouTube.

And I’m quietly rather proud of both the song and the video, and I hope that you might enjoy it!

See, I knew it. Gove hasn’t been seen or heard of for months, if not years. Then, Mike Graham gets sacked and Gove is back. Gove has been hiding inside Mike Graham all this time.

Headline from a serious and long working paper on the economic impact of Brexit. Possible that this has been feeding into OBR and HMT discussions?

"Seizing Brexit opportunities to deregulate" was mostly unspecified magic fairy pixie bullshit then, and it's not going to get any more realistic in the hands of a bunch of Reform clowns who don't know how anything works, don't care to learn and disdain anyone that might.

My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve.news We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now.

Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine.

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

The best response to a person who comes to see the light, even if based upon “now it affects me so I care”, is Welcome!

“I told you so” never ever helped solidify a change in opinion.

And yes, it sticks in my craw that this is true. My tongue bleeds from restraining myself…

They really do seem to be chasing current Tory and Reform voters, the one constituency who will never, ever vote Labour. Meanwhile they're actively driving away everyone remotely sympathetic to progressive or social policies. But I guess I'm not an expert political strategist, so what do I know?

The fact that this is even seriously discussed, by frontbench politicians and in mainstream publications, shows that something fundamental has broken in UK politics. All those who look at Germany with horrified faces because of the rise of the AfD, kindly take a look in the mirror.
Dan has got it.

There's been a real problem discussing the economy honestly the last 40+ years.
You have to pretend the economy is shite, in case the poor want a share.

London is a no-go zone.
Some politicians and commentators continue to talk our great city down.

The facts show a very different picture.

31% of Birmingham's population is British Asian and 10.9% is Black British.

29.9% of Birmingham's population is Muslim.

All these people's safety and peace of mind matters more than sparing the feelings of Zionists by unleashing violent racists on the city.

Very funny that the government thinks highly qualified people who speak English even better than the locals want to live here to be chased down the street by drunks waving flags 🤣

Bluesky completely up in arms about describing B2 English as A-Level [standard] English - “standard being a word seemingly invisible to 50% of people) : this makes me think the govt did it on purpose to divert attention from the actual policy.

You will no longer be able to buy British fruit.
When I see announcements like this, I have to ask - how many of the people out there who are so vehemently anti-migrant would actually pass English at an A-Level standard?
October 15, 2025 at 10:07 AM
… in which almost everyone responding wilfully misinterprets this to mean A Level English Lit rather than A Level *standard of* English, ie the equivalent of a British person reaching A Level standard in French, which is what this means.

How could so many ignore the words *standard of* ?

I forgot that you can now save posts, so I can’t recall who suggested complaining to the BBC about unfair treatment of Polanski. I did complain, and received this response (read it in alt text if it’s too small)

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.
Kemi Badenoch claiming Terry Pratchett as her favourite author is wild
