Nobody thought right-wing techbro libertarianism would be the system yet to be born, but here we are.

What IS it with tech bros and Tolkien? You could name your company anything, but you choose a) an embodiment of evil b) that gets defeated by a gang of plucky hobbits.
Also, which client thinks "Who should I choose to protect my assets? I know, Sauron!"?

Labour does so badly in this poll mainly because, as the tables show, they lose 29% of their 2024 vote to the Lib Dems and Greens.

Only 8% goes to Reform, just ahead of the 6% to the Cons. Those Lab–Con switchers push the Tories over 20%, despite them losing a quarter of their 2024 vote to Reform.
Westminster Voting Intention:

RFM: 27% (+12)
CON: 21% (-3)
LAB: 18% (-17)
LDM: 15% (+3)
GRN: 13% (+6)

Why is so much sweet wine sold as dry wine in the UK? Some so-called dry red and white wines are as sweet as a milkshake. New World wines are the worst offenders. People can drink whatever they like, but the labels should be clearer.

It’s a shame that this is what most “socialist” discourse looks like in the UK. No grounding in reality, no attempt to engage with expert discourse, just lazy contrarianism to drum up clicks.
What are you even talking about! I am saying it is a delusional fantasy to suggest Russia is going to invade European countries like Poland, Germany or indeed the UK, which is the insane drivel currently being promoted in support of a disastrous arms race.

"Joining the Customs Union would most likely be good for growth. But if we think it will save us from economic stagnation, we are suffering from a very British form of exceptionalism."

David Lawrence of @britishprogress.org argues that a Customs Union is not a cure-all for growth
A customs union won’t fix Labour’s growth woes
The Government is, we are told, considering crossing its own red lines and rejoining the EU Customs Union. Indeed, according to one Cabinet source, this is “the only idea around” on growth.  Aside fr...

Why do people who post the most extreme racist garbage on Facebook always use blurry images? Modern mobile phones ensure that your images always come out looking OK, but these people still manage to circumvent that somehow.

Quite breathtaking story - military grade drones at Dublin airport which flew on the path Zelensky's plane took. The drones reached the flight path of his plane exactly the time it should have been there, but just missed it because Zelensky arrived ahead of schedule:
Four unidentified military-style drones breached no-fly zone to target Zelenskyy's arrival in Dublin
Gardaí are investigating whether the drones took off from land in Dublin or from an undetected ship.

Why should the EU even consider the idea of the UK rejoining when Farage is leading the polls? And with a crackpot Conservative party led by Badenoch?
Starmer declaring “we have to keep moving towards a closer relationship with the EU” is a significant moment.

Reflects transformation in public opinion + need for economic growth.
