I think there are 8 senators who owe snap recipients a big f’ing apology.
1st, republicans reply to the passage of the CR by proposing the ACA should bar abortion.

Now, they’re torturing the snap recipients dems caved to “save”.

We could never have predicted this!

Food aid recipients are already required to recertify their information regularly. But the move is part of USDA chief Brooke Rollins’ effort to overhaul the program.

The math on the republicans’ stupid ACA alternative proposal doesn’t really “math”.

What about PE conditions, older insureds, sex differences, etc…?

And the “high risk pool” shit didn’t work before the ACA, won’t work now.

After 15 years of whining and ranting about, & trying to repeal, the ACA, & here’s the the current state of Republican thinking:

“We’re pulling together the best ideas that we can, in the quickest fashion, to bring premiums down,” Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters Wednesday night.”

Pathetic.

If republicans want to “bypass” “greedy insurance companies” then democrats need to take that pledge & use it to argue for universal single payer coverage.

For instance, Medicare for All would address the republicans’ claimed (and totally inauthentic) concern about insurers profiting from patients

As republicans talk about “giving the ACA funds back” to “voters”, have they talked about how to handle the parts of the ACA that essentially run our entire health system? Virtually everything is tied into the ACA. If they drop that it will mean (more) chaos in our ailing healthcare system.

What if, after winning the key battle of Gettysburg, Lincoln had decided to surrender to the Confederacy?

That’s kind of how the democrats’ deal to open government after last Tuesday’s electoral victories feels…

So, it took democrats about 5 days to pry a defeat out of the voters’ hard work and major electoral victories on Election Day.
Good work!(?)
November 10, 2025 at 8:21 PM
So after Tuesday’s rout of republicans at polls, democrats apparently decided winning is too hard & they need to destroy their momentum for the 2026 midterms as quickly as possible.
Republicans were struggling to “fix” the midterms, but I think dems may have made that unnecessary.
Way to lose!

WTF!?
Schumer is offering a “compromise” of extending ACA subsidies for a year, & an agreement for a group to “negotiate” with republicans to do nothing to support the ACA. Which, of course, will protect republicans from the consequences of their cuts through the midterms.
This is unbelievable.
