Landed back in the UK and was very excited to find a copy of the new book from @manongarcia.bsky.social in St. Pancras Station!
And that's a wrap. Pre-orders open early December, and the book will be published around Christmas if things go to schedule:

If you're nosey (like I always am), you can find the schedule here. And if you'd like to read the draft paper, just let me know!

Yesterday I landed in Arizona for the 13th Oxford Studies in Political Philosophy Workshop. I'm currently working surrounded by hummingbirds while overlooking a swimming pool, which is definitely the most luxurious talk preparation I've ever done

She's back!?

SAP has a call for panels for next July and I am suddenly taken by the notion of seeing if anyone would be interested in submitting abstracts themed around Mills’s work in epistemology, politics, social ontology or meta-ethics….

Anyone?

Just had a great start to our fortnightly pol-philosophy talk-and-bake sessions, with excellent @alixdietzel.bsky.social kicking us off talking about the right (& wrong) kinds of love in teaching. Packed room, lots of questions, and lots of love. @rebeccabuxton.bsky.social @wiglet1981.bsky.social

If this is a real person, then it's also very funny to say that someone's work on women in philosophy is superficial over and over again and then just quote your favourite man

Already attempted! I've claimed the panel and suggested the change, so who knows when it might kick in

EXACTLY

This is specifically a "problem" when I send mass emails to a large group of new students (as I've just done) and I know that some of them are googling me and seeing this picture...
I still don't know how to change the fact that when you Google me, you get this picture that we took for The Philosopher Queens publicity as a joke.

thank you!

It might not make you all quite as jubilant, but this news made my heart jump this week: in April 2026 Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex will be published in the prestigious Bibliothèque de la Pléiade collection—a significant recognition of the work & of feminist philosophy in the cultural canon!
