Schumer: Okay, but you have to extend subsidies for corporate health care

Trump: No

Not just dangerous for pregnant people (and it does literally cause miscarriage), but it also causes infertility, and they're spraying it all over minoritised communities. Tear gas is banned in war by the Geneva Convention.

I have a new open-access article in the Cambridge Semitic Languages and Cultures series. It examines an unknown Judaeo-Arabic manuscript of Genesis from the 10th century. I argue that it's evidence of medieval Jews reciting the Bible in a formal register of Egyptian Arabic. doi.org/10.11647/obp...
A Jewish Translation of Genesis in 10th-Century Egyptian Arabic
MS Firkovitch Yevr. II B 1526 comes from a Judaeo-Arabic translation of the biblical book of Genesis produced no later than the tenth century. It consists of two parchment folios containing most of Ge...

Pretty clear now that airport workers could strike and extract whatever they want from Congress.
Would love to see some reporting on how the airline lobby put on the pressure.

Why has the government been closed at all if Senate Dems cave now? Didn't they say that they could not go along with throwing millions of people off health care?

What's materially changed? A *promise* is not action. ALSO fascists lie and I've been told by some Senate Dems that the GOP is fascist.

Just found out about this amazing example of #manuscript #recycling . The whole manuscript is made up from the margins of an earlier liturgical manuscript, cut out and rearranged (hence the unusual format), the (mostly) blank margins then used to copy various magical texts in the mid 16th century.

Remember the "Israel says they will cut agreed aid by half" headlines? Then shortly after, "Israel agrees to do what they said they would do and allow aid into Gaza"?

The 'ceasefire' agreement was 600 trucks per day. Half was 300. They've allowed 100. Someone explain to me why this is okay.

Something like 10% of NYC residents are Muslim but the pollsters couldn't be bothered to give them their own crosstab?
Per NBC exit poll, Cuomo won the religious voters in the city. Mamdani won nones/other.

I don't think people realize what a big role religious voters have played in past NYC elections. Both Eric Adams and Bill de Blasio won their elections with big support of religious voters
