Starting to wonder what definition they're using for "fighting"
My promise to you: I will never stop fighting to protect your health care.

Defending the indefensible really comes off poorly. Being on Team Schumer is so corrupting.
Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

The Senate Democrats are unified under Schumer.
Did they all just do a unanimous consent agreement?
November 11, 2025 at 1:00 AM
They're moving quickly through this list now.
I counted 8 Senate votes coming on the shutdown deal:
1) Motion to Proceed
2) Baldwin motion to table
3) Merkley motion to table
4) Paul amendment #3941
5) Cloture on the Collins substitute #3937
6) Collins substitute
7) Cloture on the bill as amended
8) Final passage

Color me shocked
UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

ah the good times
The President has ignored Congressional appropriations, closed Congressionally-created agencies, and is grabbing people off the street without any judicial process and sending them to a foreign labor camp while boasting that he won't follow a court order telling him to stop.

I think we're there.
WATCH: Schumer says "our democracy will be at stake" if Trump disobeys the Supreme Court—but "we're not there yet."

we didn't even get the vote on the extension lol
Jeanne Shaheen - the DINO Senator from New Hampshire keeps looking for ways to surrender to Trump and MAGA in Congress. @punchbowlnews.bsky.social

Just one year extension of ACA subsidies would be a pathetic cave at this point. #noblankchecks

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

This is simply false: "Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was not part of the group that negotiated a deal to reopen the government with no actual assurances on health care"

No explanation of how Schumer's whip could vote for the deal without Schumer's blessing.
New: Schumer has been actively distancing himself from the legislation end the shutdown.

But for many Democrats, that’s not enough, and he’s bearing the brunt of the blame for allowing it to happen in the first place.

the one question to ask any politician or reporter who claims the 8 Senate Ds went rogue to capitulate to Trump:

If Schumer opposed the deal, why did Schumer's whip vote for it?

I think Jeffries and Schumer don't understand everyone under the age of 60 has watched enough pro wrestling to understand kayfabe when we see it.

Or maybe they just don't care.
In today's softball interview with @aaronparnas.bsky.social, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social demonstrates his utter contempt for Democratic voters. He pretends that the Senate Democratic cave was not a Schumer special: "Chuck Schumer has held the line... he voted no."

Just days after Typhoon Kalmaegi and Typhoon Tino slammed into the Philippines back to back, Super-typhoon Fung-wong devastated the country – triggering flash floods and mudslides that washed away houses – displacing over 1.4 million people.

Now, another typhoon is on the way.

Hill reporters are bullshit artists. They know Schumer directed the vote and yet...

Axios: "Eight Senate Ds broke ranks"
NYT: "a small but critical group of Ds broke from their party"
WaPo: "the deal split the party"
Politico: "broke ranks"

AFGE President Everett Kelley knew Schumer would eventually fold without getting any concessions, which is why AFGE's position switched from telling Dems to fight the authoritarian regime's DOGEing of federal unions in spring to telling them to fold ASAP in the fall.
Honestly, given that taking any other position would require trusting Schumer and Jeffries not to cave during shutdown negotiations, I can understand why AFGE has given up on its defense of Article I of the Constitution.
