There's a good chance that this represents the establishment of our continuous winter snowpack here in Anchorage. If so, it would be right on schedule (Nov 8th is the median date). @alaskawx.bsky.social

ERA5 modelled solar energy ranking for Alaska in October 2025 showed record low amounts of solar energy across much of the interior portions of the state compared to all other Octobers since 1940. Statewide, it was the second lowest October average (2013). @alaskawx.bsky.social 🕶️

75-year trend of October temperatures. It's as if something has changed. 🤔
November 5, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Global October temperature classification. It was the 3rd warmest October on record (2024, 2023). 61% of the globe is in some shade of red; while only 13% is in some shade of blue.

For the Jan-Oct period, Alaska is easily in 1st place for the wettest year since 1940. If we have 80% of the Nov-Dec precipitation (which has occurred in 11 of the last 12 years), we will break the statewide annual precip record set in 2023. @alaskawx.bsky.social

🔥🔥🔥A record warm October for the Arctic (60N to 90N) AND a record warm October for the Antarctic (60S to 90S). This is a disaster. 🔥🔥🔥
