Well this article was a long time coming: link.springer.com/article/10.1... Can pol-philosophy be experimental? Can normative behaviourism become more pro-active and progressive? I certainly hope so! Many thanks to AliceBaderin/JanoschPrinz/SuneLaegaard & esp. ManonWestphal who aren't here...
Experimental Political Theory: Behavioural, Careful, Radical - Res Publica
On one level, the idea here is simple: organise people into small groups and see how they react to different ways of doing politics. On another, it is more challenging: evaluate different political pr...

Thinking lots about baking lately. Wittgenstein apparently once wrote that ‘Raisins may be the best part of a cake; but a bag of raisins is not better than a cake.’ @nigelwarburton.bsky.social calls this Wittgenstein's 'critique of pure raisin', which rather made my day. @wiglet1981.bsky.social

Back from a carol service where as always my mind started to wander. This year the line 'begotten not created' in Oh Come All ye Faithful set me off. Seems an apt line for much of what goes on under the rubric of AI.

Here in Lisbon it's a public holiday in honour of the immaculate conception. Makes me wonder if any philosopher ever managed such a thing, let alone an immaculate concept? Rawls tried with JAF, but as his writing went from religion>philosophy>IR, even he had to admit it was more political in the end

I wonder how many (socialist-leaning) UK political philosophers will think about joining the UK's newest political party? Right now they're at the stage Macron's En Marche were at in 2017 in terms of gathering up a host of new candidates, so will be interesting 2 see the process... www.yourparty.uk
