feral gardener, approach with caution

Mission Hill, Boston | the car, not the song | powder keg, just add match | he/they/them | Chronic pain patient battling to survive the DEA/CDC's "war" on opioids.
Xray: my spine
♏️♓️♊️♿️🏳️‍🌈🏴‍☠️
Pinned
For the record:
My spine.
It was broken for two years prior to the surgery that placed those screws, but not one doctor bothered to look for it. I was labeled faker, drugseeker, junkie, addict. One X-ray was all it took; none of Boston’s finest medical facilities did it. My rage matches his.

This queer Black brokie thanks him for his work. He couldn't solve the entire problem himself, but he made a significant difference.

I really am somebody.
Reverend Jesse Jackson, a defining force in the struggle for civil and human rights, died on Tuesday at the age of 84.

Jackson built a broad movement that championed the rights of women, LGBT people, immigrants, and the poor.

It’s not the drugs. It’s the trauma. If the trauma remains, the drug itself won’t matter.
Meanwhile people with #chronicpain are being stripped of both pain and mental health medications.
And TACO forgot about illicit fentanyl.

What I think is really important is that we forget why he was NEEDED at this time .

how much America truly TRULY hated being forced to live up to its promise post Civil Rights Act

And how much people GLEEFULLY were willing to take this out on kids

And we KNEW it
I don’t know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is

rest in power, Jesse Jackson.

James Talarico is a US Senate candidate from Texas. CBS prohibited Stephen Colbert from airing this interview or in any way sharing his photo, statements or bio. Do your job, BlueSky and give this YouTube video better exposure than CBS ever could.

i think jesse jackson was one of the most important american political figures of the post-war era and i think that his 1984 and 1988 campaigns for the democratic nomination still have a great deal to teach about forging a path to a more egalitarian world. RIP.

$40 left, thank you, H 🙏🏾
The bill shuffle for this month got delayed but I can't avoid it.

If you can help me pay bills, I would truly appreciate it. I'm a caregiver for my disabled mom, going on 5 years without a paycheck. (She doesn't have to pay me, but the state won't.) Goal is $300.

If you can help:
Pay Firma Francisque using PayPal.Me
Go to paypal.me/FirmaFrancisque and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.

@billshaner.bsky.social reporting is stellar.

There are serious repercussions from this conviction & prosecution. Beyond the personal cost, this is about chilling community defense & police misconduct enabled by prosecutorial discretion.

Seconded.
Emphatically seconded.
When they announced Sowmya Krishnamurthy was writing the Roc A Fella book, some people contacted me saying I should be writing it instead…

I never would’ve pitched that book idea, nor would I have accepted it if it were offered to me. I want to write about Black Boston shit. LET ME DO IT ALREADY.

Why does it seem like politicians live longer than we Americans?

The answer, of course, is health care.

The have an unfettered access to good health care.

Why don't you have the same health care they do?

I thought they worked for you?

I thought they had your best interests at heart?

Weird.

I'm sometimes asked why I focus on gender-affirming care for trans youth. It's because the regime chose to start there, and if they succeed, it won't end there.

from the perspective of someone who might want to be president, the best time to run for the white house is now, not later. so if AOC is thinking about it — if the white house is her ambition — then her best bet is to throw her hat in the ring
You Know What? Maybe the Time Is Right for an AOC Presidential Bid
She’s only 36, and there’s a good argument that she should run for Senate and bide her time. But she also could be a formidable White House candidate.
