(1/2) A study published in June found that Blacks are more likely to be hit in pedestrian accidents than whites. While the study's authors attributed the disparities to lower car ownership among Blacks, studies in other cities have suggested driver bias is a factor.

@bill-walczak.bsky.social argues that eliminating odd-year municipal elections would raise voter turnout. It would give politics reporters less to talk about on odd years, but I think the boost in turnout would outweigh the downsides.
