This is a good question and something that sounds fun to write about, so I'm going to do a thread and periodically add to it. I argue that what a lot of people refer to (and unfairly dismiss) as "modern Simpsons" is often a decade or more out of date, and the show has turned a corner in recent years

My former stepmom stole my mom's family recipe collection when she and my dad divorced. I was keeping some of my things with them and wasn't there to protect it (I suspect I lost a lot of my childhood things in that process, either to her or the trash). It still pisses me off
Family cookbooks, filled with handwritten notes, sometimes held together with rubber bands, tell the story of generations of homemakers. They are irreplaceable treasures.
