A #BlueskyLullaby for tonight: To mark the anniversary of the wreck of the 'Edmund Fitzgerald' on Lake Superior (November 10, 1975), here's Gordon Lightfoot's famous song about it—as covered even more hauntingly by the Punch Brothers, including Chris Thile singing and on mandolin. See you around.

I gave my 6-year-old daughter a ten-minute summary of the major wars the United States has been involved in (since she was learning about Veterans Day), and then, unrelatedly, taught her and her 9- and 3-year-old brothers pretty much all the lyrics to this song. Pretty productive use of car time.
A #BlueskyLullaby for tonight: After a long talk today with a teacher from Memphis, I found I had this tune stuck in my head: "That's How I Got to Memphis" by Tom T. Hall. (Yeah, it's the song from the series finale of 'The Newsroom.') Maybe it'll be stuck in your head now, too. See you around.

Three questions:
1. Is who politicians follow online newsworthy?
2. Is the vice-president more important than a primary candidate to be junior Senator from Texas?
3. If the answer is yes to the first two, why isn’t Axios doing a fuck ton of stories about who JD Vance is following?

Part of me is glad Trump is now unconstrained, and is defacing and demeaning everything he touches.
It means that for the next three years we’ll have constant reminders not just of the need to defeat him, but also of the importance of ripping out Trumpism’s poisonous legacy and beginning anew.
