This is a good question and something that sounds fun to write about, so I'm going to do a thread and periodically add to it. I argue that what a lot of people refer to (and unfairly dismiss) as "modern Simpsons" is often a decade or more out of date, and the show has turned a corner in recent years
can you give us a "recent episodes" primer with examples of ones to check out?

I think you're basically doing PR for a person like this if you don't force them to grapple with why they gleefully participated in the heinous political culture they're now decrying. Do you understand why you were wrong or are you just mad because you didn't expect to be a victim
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I sent those deaths threats directly to him in a text message & informed him of what his name calling & words were doing - it was a direct assassination threat on my son. And he was extremely - I won't repeat what he said - but it was extremely unkind. No sympathy. No care"

Wow: Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named for Holocaust survivor Raphael Lemkin, who coined term "genocide") calls Clinton's remarks "genocide denial."

"Young people in the US are not stupid or gullible. They simply reject genocide – something the Secretary might consider doing as well."

I accept that I will likely never change the mind of the liberal who truly believes all that matters is being better than a Republican. But I have a memory longer than a goldfish’s and I can Google “UK Labour Party” so forgive me for being crass for having the audacity to know how this fucking ends.

You’re whining at me claiming I want binaries, meanwhile, you think the most powerful men in the world should get partial credit points. If you think the president of the United States deserves participation trophies, go talk to FIFA, not me.

It’s the same fucking argument libs want to have about healthcare because they care more about winning arguments than winning elections: any criticism of the ACA is met with “but it did good things.” Great, Trump is president again and its costs are tripling. It’s not working! Do better!

It is consistently frustrating because of the liberal mindset to shift blame at all costs to claim I “ insist “upon something I never did. I did not say trying to reduce student loan debt was bad, I in fact, literally said the opposite – I said because he didn’t do enough, it *didn’t fucking work.*
Would it have been nice if every single cent of student loan debt was wiped off the books? Maybe, idk. But if you insist on turning up your nose at anything but the most maximalist outcome, no one is going to want to be in coalition with you cause you’re not a team player.

It's so hard not to reply "what's the CCP?" when people post about the Communist Party of China using the wrong acronym (mainly because I doubt they care whether they're correct and figure they would probably keep doing it on purpose if they knew)

Mamdani's alleged support for BDS was not an insignificant part of his supporters' case for him. It was their primary retort to critics of his softening support for Palestine. Now that he's signaling intent to back down on that too, what will they do?

HR departments countrywide need to start treating gendercrit employees as potentially hostile. As soon as you are required to interact with one, you dust off the rulebook, you dot every eye and cross every t, and you assume bad faith at every turn.

They are a threat to every organisation.

literally every time this topic comes up people insist the like 5 atheist public figures who were islamophobic 15 years ago and the fact the atheist subreddit was cringe is evidence atheists have not held the most progressive political position on everything for forever
The small reactionary section of atheists is elevated and blown out of proportion because they are aligned with the bourgeoisie. The vast majority of “nones” are vastly more progressive / left leaning in their politics than any other group. “Nones” are now 30% of the population.

Probably the most depressing aspect of the last 24 hours is how many atheists told me they default to calling themselves agnostic because they don’t want to be viewed this way. Do not concede this territory to the reactionary bourgeoisie and the narratives they push!

It's been wild to see Reddit's reputation evolve (justifiably) from "wretched hive of scum and villainy" to "at least these are real people" to "the last bastion of real people on the internet"
I'll add that as someone who not that long ago spent many frantic nights looking for information on sleep training, feeding, etc etc--by far the most valuable internet resource was reddit, the only place with human advice. Everything else is basically useless at this point.
This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.
