When I first transitioned, I would drive a mile to a public gender neutral bathroom rather than use one at work. I found out later a dozen staff held “meetings” about what they would do if I used the women’s room. I was their boss’s boss at the time, still had no recourse, just had to let it happen.
The BBC reporting on Beth Upton’s current employment situation is definitely not in the public interest, and it is insane how much the British press freely get away with harassing her for the crime of simply living her life existing as a trans person in the UK.

This is now literally the lead story on BBC News Scotland. The employment situation of a private individual harassed via lawfare is deemed the main headline for national news. This is genuinely sickening. The media is a cancer upon this country.

The BBC are raising the licence fee after a year in which 300,000 households stopped paying it. No better time to cancel your licence fee if you haven't already done so.

Boycott the right-wing propaganda outlet and consider donating the money you save to trans charities and trans people in need.

The Cass Review was always a sham, a pre-ordained hit job meant to give genitally-obsessed bigots a bloody red flag to wave while they torture trans people. Badenoch admitted as much on Twitter. The entire WORLD knows it's shit, and yet the UK gov. pretends it's filet mignon.
The BBC at it again pushing pseudo scientists Hillary Cass with absolutely no pushback whatsoever. This isn’t an impartial broadcaster it’s a propaganda machine. We can only hope the BMA soundly repudiates the Cass Reviews soon.

Says the woman who disregarded evidence and medical professionals to "weaponise" children to such an extent she got necessary medical support stripped from trans young people, in a manner shown to have contributed to an increase in deaths.
She needs to sit this out.

cass saying that trans ppl existing online misrepresents what being trans is like is no different from saying gay ppl existing on tv misrepresents the 'homosexual lifestyle'.

it's just homophobia recycled for a modern audience.

@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social and co are repeating histories mistakes.

A less transphobic press might start asking "How does driving a doctor out of Scotland help cut NHS wait times? Why is Scotland better with fewer doctors? Which other minority staff would you get rid of?"
Every single person involved in this hate campaign and everyone who has supported them - Anas Sarwar, for example - needs to be run out of public life the way they've run Dr Upton out the NHS. Being trans isn't a risk factor for people around you; this obsessive hate absolutely is.
Susan Smith of For Women Scotland is quoted in this piece saying that Dr Upton leaving the NHS will be "a relief to female patients."

The employment tribunal found that Upton had done nothing wrong! She was completely innocent of any kind of harassment!

There is zero evidence that their ban on puberty blockers has helped a single child and plenty of evidence that it has resulted in the deaths of over 20 trans children.

They know all this.

They are happy with how things are going.

In response to the huge rise in trans youth suicide caused by the NHS withdrawing medical care and the Gov cover up to hide that being exposed, the UK Gov deploy their pet conversion abuser to run interference.

Fun fact: the best stats available suggest that the unemployment rate for US trans people is comparable to the Great Depression.

Another fun fact: the best stats available aren’t very good because the Bureau of Labor Statistics had never bothered to measure the trans unemployment rate.
there is an employment crisis among trans women and there always has been, but good luck getting people to see it
Still living this life after almost 8 months. A professional I know who works almost exclusively with trans people said almost all of them are unemployed.

Today's ruling on the EHRC's interim guidance is a disappointing, confusing and mixed picture.

A trans woman who is a customer in a café can use the women's toilets, but if she works there she might not be able to.

Once again everyday life is being made a legal labyrinth for trans people.

Side note: this is the kind of thing when I mean relational and caring labour needed for coding that just gets erased because people don't treat it as work.

Getting to know how a project works, how they accept submissions and submitting in a way that helps them integrate your contribution is work!
I've seen forks that were entirely vibe coded by someone who didn't know how to code at all (I think the meshtastic code base might have been to implement some feature by a vibe coder that didn't know etiquette to submit a PR) but I don't know if anyone else has.
